Three New York Teachers Busted for Smoking Pot

Three public high school teachers were arrested and charged when they were caught by police smoking pot outside an Allman Brothers concert. The school board is just moving them to other schools while they investigate. I just hope that they fire these teachers, as they apparently are not good role models for the students they are supposed to be teaching. You can read about in amNY.

Yeah, see, the problem with, at least that I see at my school, with the teachers is, for the most part, they actually don't really care if kids are doing drugs or not, as long as they don't effect the good students. I guess this wouldn't be any different.

dirty hippies.

it's really a let down when people in the position to help inspire & motivate youth into living better lives do the exact opposite.

it reminds me of those anti-drug commericals in the late 80s/early 90s where the school bus driver goes home & does coke (or some hard drug) & then the next morning they're picking lil Billy up from the bus stop.

they're sort of the same deal. obviously a drugged-up bus driver is a more immediate threat to youth, but a teacher with no ambition or desire to help his/her students progress is a threat just the same. in my 12 yrs of going through public school i can really only recall 2-3 teachers who actually had passion for their jobs. it's really sad.

I have friends that are teachers and when I hear them talk about the school board and the principals treating them like sh*t and the parents b*tching and moaning cause their kid "deserved" an A I understand why they don't have the passion they thought they would when they went into teaching. But to not have respect for your position and become a hypocrite is utter crap.
